Sedation

TREATING NERVOUS PATIENTS

What is sedation?

Dental sedation is a technique used by dentists to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable during dental procedures. It involves the use of medication to help calm anxiety, reduce pain, and promote relaxation. There are several different types of dental sedation, including:

Oral sedation: This involves taking a prescription medication before the dental procedure. The medication helps reduce anxiety and promote relaxation, and the effects can last for several hours.

Intravenous (IV) sedation: This involves administering medication directly into the bloodstream through a vein in the arm. The medication induces a state of deep relaxation and can help reduce pain and anxiety during dental procedures.
